What is HitPads.com?

HitPads.com is an Interactive Music Discovery platform and social site offering the 'HitPads Remixer' experience - a virtual DJ widget designed with fun in mind.

A 'HitPads Remixer' is a loop-based MP3 Player - here's how it works:

An Original Artist, Producer or Band, slices one (1) of their own songs into sixteen (16) looped-based Mp3 files and uploads them to a new HitPads Remixer. 

The player is published to our Charts and can be embedded on web pages to increase an Artist's reach. 

Listeners discover, play and remix songs while having much much much more fun! 

It's as if the Listener were playing a real loop-based instrument - only if you're an Artist - it contains your music!

Why would I use HitPads.com?

Original Artists can easily add this fun tool to their marketing assets thereby giving their listeners a new kind of interactive experience by engaging like a DJ. It'a all about the fun!

What is a HitPad?

Every HitPads Remixer contains 16 blocks each with one loop. We named each block a HitPad.

What do you mean by the term 'Original Artist'?

An Original Artist is a registered user who uploads music they created, or to which they own the rights, to HitPads.com

Why must my HitPads loops be 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars long?

An important feature of the HitPads Remixer is its ability to keep loops in sync with each other during playback. Constraining loops to these timings increases synchronization effectiveness. And limiting loop length to 8 bars ensures the maximum file size for any one loop does not cause long waits for Music Discoverers due to streaming media buffering.

How do you calculate "Popularity”?

Daily tallies are counted for number of plays by IP address. Artists with the most plays and IP addresses in any given 24 hour period have the highest ratings are the most popular. We discourage manipulation of count-data by logging IP addresses for all play counts and limit play counts to 1 play per unique IP per per 24 hour period.

How do I completely remove a HitPads Remixer I created?

1. Click the 'My HitPads Remixers' menu item at the top of this page.

2. Locate the HitPads Remixer you want to delere in your list of HitPads Remixers.

3. Click the 'delete' icon to the right of the label (it looks like a bin).

4. Confirm deletion.

We recommend the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, IE 6+

You will also need to install the latest Adobe Flash Player.

Can I create a journal or a blog or write about my favorite HitPads Remixers?

Yes, HitPads supports blogs and microblogging. These tools are available from your profile menu and throughout the site.

Can anyone upload a new HitPads Remixer?

Yes, but you must be the Original Artist, Producer or Band, or you must own the rights to the music you upload. See our Submission Agreement for more information.

Does it cost money to use HitPads.com?

No. Anyone can register and use HitPads.com free of charge. 

Due to operating costs (like bandwidth) we restrict the maximum number of free HitPads Remixers for Original Artists to ten (10).
